grungy-gonads 54
Tell you what though it really is incredible the way Apple can keep all the information about new products under wraps (almost) until they announce. One of the last rumours I read was that the new ipad has been shipped from China on the way over to the US. Just amazing the way they keep completely quiet about everything and at the same time keep everyone guessing.
muikabochi 208
Bonus, gg! People are paying that much for ipad1? I'm really surprised.
grungy-gonads 54
I was happily surprised. I put it on there with the intention of coming down on price no worries. That someone bought within 2 hours was just like

muikabochi 208
Event announced for Wednesday 7th. Internet explodes analyzing image!
grungy-gonads 54
Yes I have been reading about it. Home or no Home button? When will they release the thing? So many secrets!
BeerTengoku 35
No home button?! Wow, that would be pretty cool. Except Samsung has already done that - cue more patent wars! But that calendar icon looks much sharper.
grungy-gonads 54
If there's no home button, how does that functionality get happening? Not sure if I like that idea. No doubt seeing it in action it will all make sense. If indeed they are getting rid of it.

pie-eater 207
Today’s announcement of the March 7 iPad 3 unveiling has managed to push the Cupertino, Calif.-headquartered designer of shiny electronics to a new lifetime high. The Apple stock, which trades on NASDAQ under the AAPL symbol, was up nearly nine points, or more than 1.5-percent, in early afternoon trading. Valued at $534.08 a share, the company was just shy of $500 billion in market valuation at the time of this writing.
BeerTengoku 35
Christ pie-eater, if that were to happen that would be mind blowingly awesome! I'd settle the edge to edge display and the nfc.
pie-eater 207
The edge to edge looks totally awesome, but wouldn't it sort of be impractical... mistaken clicks etc.

joshnii 2
Do they usually actually show the product itself in these invites though? I have been waiting and I will probably get one of these.
7-11 2
Got to hand it to Apple. Does any other company whip up such a frenzy simply by announcing an event to launch a product?!
muikabochi 208
gg, I did the amazon marketplace thing with two of my DX lenses that I won't be needing once I get my FX camera. Both of them gone within 3 days - and both for really good prices. Very pleased.
NoFakie 45
Got to hand it to Apple. Does any other company whip up such a frenzy simply by announcing an event to launch a product?! Part of the reason is that money is now very tight in the media industry (newspapers etc.) Newspapers employ very few journalists compared to the past. They cannot afford to pay many people very much any more. This means they are happy to put out press releases and other content handed to them from companies. As you say Apple are better at playing the media than other companies, but they shouldn't be able to get anything like the publicity they do in proper news outlets. Its symptomatic of a major demise in journalism. As a similar example, McDonalds get lots of free publicity off Japanese tv whenever they do a new burger. Any old rubbish to fill five minutes. muikabochi 208
They really milk it don't they. Having said that, lots of the excitement comes from their total silence and just everyone getting excited about the products. Bottom line is they have to have the great products to begin with and get that kind of love. So you'd think anyway. I know what you mean about things like McDonalds. Another good example is Disney. They seem to get hour-long specials!!
brit-gob 9
Yes Disney a few times a year hey. Talking of Disney, otherwise attractive young ladies going goo-goo over Mickey Mouse is such a turn off. Stop it!!
klingon 10
Yes I agree. It just doesn't compute.

BeerTengoku 35
Looks like the 'Home' button stays. And in all seriousness, its probably because google/samsung have a patent on it. Wonder if they will finally change to a micro USB port as well/
grungy-gonads 54
Im glad, I like the home button. I very much dislike the virtual buttons on the galaxy tab. They are AWFUL!
