muikabochi 208
What do you think? I know Niigata very well and frankly getting a bit bored with it. I know Nagano pretty well and still want to go to Nozawa and Shiga Kogen again in particular. Got some new targets for the coming season in surrounding prefectures, but the big question is whether I should venture up to Hokkaido. I'm sure I'd love it, as would my camera. Please decide for me*. * disclaimer to follow
thursday 1
This is, of course a rather life changing question. You need to ask yourself: - do I want to stay in Niigata for the rest of my life, having settled and now very comfortable. - do I want to up root all that I've built up for the many years I have been in Niigata. - can I just sample Hokkaido and not fall in love with it so much that I have to up my roots and go live there. Cheers, have some good thoughts.
muikabochi 208
Let me clarify, I don't mean to live - I'm very happy where I am - this is just to go up and enjoy the skiing.
thursday 1
what I mean is that once you're there, you want to be there forever.

thursday 1
no, I don't think I have. I've seen Hokkaido. Nuff said.
muikabochi 208
Not nuff said. There are other beautiful places to live than Hokkaido. More beautiful in fact. A fair few of my pics are easy enough to find on here, perhaps you should reacquaint yourself with some of them.
thursday 1
True. I love your pics. I think if I ever have to leave HK, then I would go to Hokkaido to do my thing. Not sure what that thing is, but it will be food and drink at least.
RobBright 35
Na - leave hokkaido to those ozzies and we'll have honshu for ourselves.
Go Native 70
If you have the time and money to do it can't see any reason why you wouldn't. Believe me if I could get time off in winter I'd head down your way in a flash!

Tubby Beaver 209
the Ski-jo's aren't that crowded, especially if you go on a weekday then most places you have the place to yourself!
sanjo 2
Weekdays skijos can be scarily empty. One day last season I was worried that if I fell over on the slopes, no-one would find me for days!
sanjo 2
Might be up for it too muika
Myoko Guy 0
Go for it MB. Change is as good as a holiday. But then again it would be a holiday too. Yuki's Passion 1
that and we could have another person tell the world how flat niseko really is
muikabochi 208
I wouldn't do that. Out of interest, why would I - or anyone else - do that? It's only a small number of vocal people often with hangups and/or interests elsewhere that usually do that. I'd simply go to enjoy the excellent snow and scenery amongst other things.
