Yuki-Uma 0
Hi I'm thinking about getting a new board sent from the States direct to Japan instead of having it delivered to OZ ( will be in Hakuba Late Feb ) Does anyone know if there is & at what level import duties kick in ( In OZ if order is under $1000 no duty ) thanks
Zer0star 0
i doubt there would be any duties on it. why don't you buy it in Japan? They have pretty much everything you can get in the US and it's pretty cheap.
Yuki-Uma 0
If you can direct me to some online sites in Japan I'll have a look but when i was there previously there was a fair difference in pricing at this stage I'm looking at a Gnu Carbon Credit Series BTX Men's Snowboard 162cm: thanks
Zer0star 0
162 might be a bit tough to find in Japan. now's probably not the best time to buy- not much left. New stuff should be coming out in a couple of months. Rakuten is probably the best site - http://event.rakuten.co.jp/en/ (English version) Yahoo shopping http://shopping.yahoo.co.jp/ and auctions http://auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/ in Japanese. May I ask how much you can get it for in the US??
Yuki-Uma 0
Thanks for the sites yes have had a bit of trouble buying gear in Japan 182cm 92kg's & size 12 hoofers Had to replace some gloves Feb just gone struggled to find any that fitted properly US$
Zer0star 0
$399 sounds like a pretty good deal. How much is delivery looking to be? I've found that i couldn't buy Burton gear from the US cause they don't allow it to be exported. That was a biatch.
SantaCruz 0
Should I mention that I have a few friends who work at Quicksilver (who owns GNU)? They just had they're sample sale where they can pick up boards for $50. I had him grab me some size 14 boots for about $30. I think one guy told him his entire setup (jacket, pants, board, bindings, boots) was less than $200. Ridiculous.
Zer0star 0
size 1!! baby boots? damn, you got that edit in quick. size 14! damn that's gotta be hard to track down. I have a hard enough time getting some size 12s in Japan.
Sciclone 2
If you want Burton stuff shipped from US overseas, then you have to go through a forwarder.... that much I know... What I don't know is which one is best? I've heard some bad reports about Bongo and mixed reviews of PriceUSA... Has anyone used a forwarding service to send boards/bindings? If so, how much did it cost?
Yuki-Uma 0
Min delivery is US$100 but I could have 2 complete board packages sent for that so i will probably buy some outerwear & my boarding buddy is looking at some gear as well. Had a look at those sites, as usual size is going to be an issue pricing was about (landed) AUS$115 difference between the USA & Japan, which is AUS$375 cheaper than being advertised in Australia.( I would then have to pay for shipping across to Perth ) cheers
ongd 0
Hey guys. Sorry for the bump but I thought it would be better to post here rather than making a new but redundant thread. Did you end up shipping your board into Tokyo? I'm thinking about getting a Seirrascope but I really don't want to deal with some crazy high import tax.
Timmyhugecans 0
I was charged Y2500 for a board from states.
