I thought they were a myth.

They aren't.

Here's one found wandering around Scotland.

I caught it and consumed. I am surprised to say that >>> it was delicious!

They are no myth BUT are pretty rare. Any good chippy won't do them cos the chocolate ruins the oil. I tried it once, didn't like it. I think they are more common on the West coast of Scotland

Well, all I can say is that this chippy was in Aviemore and the chips as well were excellent. Definitely not a bad chippy.

My friend recently got home from a Canada and USA tour - at a number of places she snapped pics of 'deep=fried' odditys.

Deep Fried Cheesecake and Deep Fried Oreo's spring to mind.

I have eaten both a deep fried hamburger (not nice at all) and a deep fried pizza, I got through about half the pizza before my body rejected it and I threw it back up!!
In Aviemore!! well prob cos it'll most likely be the ONLY chippy there so they don't care. In general good chippy's won't do em because they scew up the oil

Aviemore, as I saw it, has 3 chippies.

And as I said, the chips were great and there were tons of "awards" on the walls, so they seemed to be rather popular.

Perhaps they had separate oil.

I don't know. All I know is it was a good chippy.

Don't mean to be argumentative wink

when holidaying in Scotland, Jerry Hall just finished with her mars bar, and Mick said "how am I gonna eat that, it's all messy"

Jerry took it down the local chippie and had it coated in batter and fried. She took it back to Mick and he joyfully ate it.

Back at the chippy, the first local customer came in for his fish n chips. "you wanna change that oil gov'nor, it smells mighty fishy"

The frier replied "yeah, Jerry Hall just been in frying her mars bar"

I wonder how that started. I'd like to try it myself, bet it tastes good.

Melted mars bar with some warm milk mixed in is good. Smooth mars-y paste. Yum.
