Iiyama stretches over a fair distance, it's long and thin, so I suppose it depends on whereabouts you mean but I don't see why people would stay in Iiyama (or at least the center area) and as far as I know not many do. There's plenty of accommodation in Nozawa. Or Shiga Kogen if that is where you are skiing. Having said that, it's not difficult to get from Iiyama to Nozawa.

I agree, iiyamadude. No point in being there if you gotta travel each way daily before and after the day's slide.

 

Besides, Nozawa is a very pretty place, heaps of places to eat, plenty to do and all within a couple of minutes walk (that's WALK!) to the lifts.

 

If the Oz dollar did the right thing and got good and strong again, I'd be back like a shot in January. As it is, I'm still paying for last January's trip because the arse fell out of the exchange rate just before we bought our Yen! veryangry
