Go Native 70
Hven't heard but wouldn't be suprised, some serious drifting and loading occurred overnight and through today. I did see a nice little one in Annupuri back bowl last Wednesday, nothing serious but ran down 50m or so. I'll see if I can find any details about one today.
reev 0
Here is the link to the news article (in Japanese), can't believe they were out there in those conditions, not really thinking at all... www.47news.jp/CN/200902/CN2009020801000161.html
Go Native 70
A quick summary is that NOASC took a guided backcoutnry tour to Nitoannupuri which is a nice little peak out from near Goshikionsen on the north side of Annupuri. There were 2 guides and 8 customers. About 20mins into the hike up a slide started around 100m above them and buried 4 people including one of the guides. All were rescused though two were injured, one guy breaking his femur and another sprained his shoulder. Fairly scary stuff. As Blade points out the conditions yesterday were terrible with extrememly strong winds with associated drifting and loading of the slopes. Not a great time to be heading out into the backcoutnry... Rag-Doll 0
Oh dear, I 've just sent an email to NOASC asking them about a tour up Yotei in a couple of weeks. I've had good experiences with these guys in the past, but this does make me wonder.
