indiego 0
Hi all, We've got a weekend planned out to move from Bandai to Ishiuchi. Wouldn't wanna ride the weekends so while our bags make its way to ishiuchi was thinkin of spending the weekend somewhere other than tokyo. Our limitation would be anywhere where the JR east pass allows. Any suggestions would be appreciated... Cheers.
Ezorisu 0
Can't rightly think of anything in particular between the two places... You can head over to the Noto-hantou (peninsula), but that's more West than Ishiuchi, and you'll have to backtrack later. Maybe just check out some onsen (hot springs) in Fukushima? It's a little out of the way, but if you're into temples, shrines, and Japanese history, you could go to Nikko (head Southeast to Utsunomiya, then Northeast to Nikko). Check out the JR East English website for route maps and timetables.
Myoko Guy 0
Noto-hanto is too far away. Great place but you can't go past about Itoigawa on hat side of Honshu. I'd definitely recommend Nikko too or maybe Karuizawa (if the Asama volcano settles down). Izu Peninsula would also be nice, or maybe around Mount Fuji. Think you're still coveed by the East Pass there.
