klingon 10
And it is! Even people who hated Vista seem to be admitting that Windows 7 is good. Anyone download and install the free beta? Might give it a go myself actually. I wonder if they'll give Vista users a nice discount. Or, perhaps, give it away.
JA2340 16
Yeah, right!! And to top it all off, Uncle Bill will give his fortune away to be divided equally amongst the first 10000 people to install Win7 over blister. Believe that?? Then, I have a very nice, barely used, just out of warranty bridge across Sydney Harbour I could practically give away.
kokodoko 67
hmm, i am very interested in a fairly new bridge.
RobBright 35
JA - did you get that email too? I sent him my bank account details and hopefully this weekend, I'll be rich. Have to pay $600 dollars to help the deal though.
grungy-gonads 54
Silly things aside, it is actually getting quite good reviews isn't it.

xxx 2
I tried it out on an older machine that I don't really use. It worked fine, quite fast too from what I could tell.
klingon 10
Downloaded the RC (release candidate) and it's actually very stable and a decent first impression.
brit-gob 9
I might try that on my 'don't use much' at home PC see what its like.
yoroshiku onegai shimasu 2
I did that it is pretty good actually. In fact, not experienced any bugs at all and I like some of the new features.
thursday 1
what are the new features?
yamayamayama 2
Apparently one of the main features is "a bit better than vista".
inned muppet 0
If you "shake" a window, all the others disappear. Not sure if this is top of the feature list, but..... Going to try this on my pc at home I think for the laughs. What happens when it's released though does the computer using this version stop working or ask you to pay for a licence or what? thursday 1
that one sounds useful as I sometimes need to minimize loads of windows to get to the one I want (the SJ one)
2pints-mate 0
How time flies. I still think of Vista as 'new'. Not that I really spend much time thinking about these things you understand.

IIIII 2
I see the pre-release order @ 50% of the total release cost was snapped up and ended early in Japan. Wonder how many they sold in that offer. Unfortunately it looks like only the Ultimate edition does the different languages.

You should be able to buy a most of the versions in Japanese. Windows ships in a boatload of different langauges. What is it you're looking for?
pie-eater 207
I know what IIII means. Only the Ultimate edition, I believe, will have support for all the different languages. Just like Vista. If you get Japanese version of Vista, you can't change the OS language to English. You need the Ultimate version to be able to do that. Officially anyway.
SantaCruz 0
Do either of these resolve the issue? http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Windows/en-US/Help/4a90fe71-cca6-4965-ab39-97f92ca1a03f1033.mspx http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Windows/en-US/Help/35a1b021-d96c-49a5-8d8f-5e9d64ab5ecc1033.mspx
pie-eater 207
Reading details is fun Note The Display language section will only be visible if you have already installed a LIP or if your edition of Windows supports MUI. MUI packs are only available in Windows Vista Ultimate and Windows Vista Enterprise
SantaCruz 0
Ahh interesting. And reading details aren't fun!
