one8s 0
Hi All Just trying to budget for my trip, does anyone know if the ski resorts at Nozawa Onsen or Myoko Kogen take credit card? Many Thanks!
Myoko Guy 0
What for? Lift tickets? Hotels? Restaurants? If staying at a major hotel or eating at some restaurants you should be okay. The smaller establishments will unlikely take cards. Not sure about lift tickets. There are post offices in Akakura and Myoko Kogen where you can draw out cash on the ATM if you get stuck. RobBright 35
Not technically true MG - not all machines let you - make sure your card either has the plus/cirrus symbol on it and maybe ok.
Myoko Guy 0
True Rob, must check they have that symbol. My experience with Australian cards is that they've always worked in the post offices.

s3phis 0
Generally speaking, VISA and MasterCard are okay. The main reason is that the CC fee is only 1.5% where as the Amex/Diner/JCB is at 3%. At Nozawa Onsen, I'm pretty sure the lift vendors as well as the ski school at the Hikage centre have CC facilities but I'm unsure of the Nagasaka/Karasawa centres. Post Office should but I think the ATM is inside so I'd recommend making sure you have enough cash on you to last the night too (if you plan on going out eating/drinking). CC's are still pretty sparesly used, I think the safest bet is to withdraw the money as cash rather than relying on your card.
