GordonFreeman 0
Right...sod it, I'm going to Hakuba tomorrow, little bit of snow. Seems like the best route is shinkansen to nagano, then a highway bus. Where do the highway buses from Nagano leave from & What's the best way from Hakuba to Hakuba Goryu? Tubby Beaver 209
If you go down to a JR View the travel agent in most JR stations then you can get a day deal which includes Shinkansen, connecting buses and lift ticket
GordonFreeman 0
I have a JR pass so that saves me on the Shinkansen.
Alcantara 0
Did they finish that new road between Goryu and 47 yet? It was almost done a month ago when I was up there...
Tubby Beaver 209
well I guess you are away today and so will have got the bus...BUT its right outside Nagano station...you will have to buy a ticket for it though
skidaisuki 0
In case anyone else needs such guidance in future....the buses depart from right outside JR Nagano Station, and as Hakuba is a long area stretched along the valley, there are a few stops, one of which is called Hakuba Goryu (though it's actually about 1 - 2 km from Escal Plaza the base of Goryu. From there you can either follow the signs and walk, or get a taxi or passing free resort bus up to Escal Plaza. Hopefully Gordon & Co were paying attention to the stop indicator on the bus - it's bilingual - and got off at Goryu rather than carrying on to JR Hakuba (in the village) or the final stop which is close to Happo One. The driver usually checks which part of Hakuba you are going to before the bus leaves Nagano anyway.
