thursday 1
no, no, no, I stop at the vending machine to drink beer.
HoTRoD 2
That was mighty good research.
Sciclone 2
Compared to prices at Perisher, the prices at Furano last year may have been in a third world country... Also, with all the vending machines around, it keeps the prices of beer and soft drinks down... I'll see how we go at SK this year.
thursday 1
You just can't compare can you.
foreversnow 5
When we were in NZ a couple of years ago we got 2 gatorades and 2 buckets of chips and it came to $18. I nearly passed out. I realise this year is going to be more expense but I still think it is cheaper to eat on the hill than anywhere else I have been. I have worked out that if I get a large beer from the vending machine by the time I have drunk 1/2 I will be off my face and pass out and presto there is a huge saving on dinner. Oh yeah and I will 1/2 for the next night.
gareth_oau 2
I purchased 5 takeaway pizzas at Thredbo last year and it cost me over $80 ( i have to admit they tasted a lot better than a dominos tho!!)
ssar 0
Re: Food / Restaurants to try in Niseko: I have heard the following is worth checking out whilst there, perhaps: “Bowl of Soba / Udon / Ramen noodles, and Kani or Crab Ramen at Hanozono are good value†Niseko Restaurants/Bars to try: - Rin - Ice Bar in Hirafu Village near Full Note Pension & Seicomart - Abucha 1st Japanese Izakaya & Bar - Zhivagos - Senchou - Good seafood, quite traditional - Yummy's Pizza - Yuki Bar - Little Noodle House near the bottom of the main street - King Bell Hut BBQ Kutchan: - Nihonbashi in Kutchan - Authentic Japanese --- Thoughts? Tommmm 0
Zhivagos is expensive from memory. I liked JoJo's and SplashBar although not your authentic Japanese.
nagoid 4
Never heard of gatorades. Don't you need some sort of ID in some (?) beer vending machines now? Wondering for visitors what you'd use there.
BeerTengoku 35
Don't forget - you can maximise cost efficiency by buying a larger quantity of beer at a cheaper cost ie look at maiko a 4l pitcher for 4000 yen, compared to 600yen per large 500ml can. Save 800 yen
Thundercat 60
nagoid, don't know about the beer vending machines. in my town no id is required. but for smokes you need a taspo card to buy from vending machines... if you don't have a card it's always possible to buy in 7-11 with no id! best skier in hakuba 5
What card would you need for the beer nagoid? Can't say I've seen one of them - having said that haven't used a beer vending maching for quite a while.
cheeseman 1
People should really be mentioning the cost of cheese as well in here....
Nisoko 6
The bottom line, unfortunately cheeseman, is - cheese = expensive. I find that Furano one to be fairly bland myself.
thursday 1
not expensive. The Camembert was 500Y. It was really good. The Furano was 700 I think, but I bought a lot of cheesecake with that order so dunno the price really.
Error404 0
Prices are for weaklings. Would like to try some of that lot.
