At 12 days you may be better off buying gear on sale in Sapporo and giving it away when your done. (if you dont want to travel with it.)

Or if you can travel with it then you could buy it at home (should be on sale now) and bring it with you. Even mid/low level gear should be better than rental stuff and you should be able to get that pretty cheap.

There are many rental shops in Niseko (assuming Hirafu) and most of the shops do have good selction of boot sizes. But if you are worried about they may not have size for huge feet, then bring at least your boots.

Roy, I dont really know much about snowboards but at a wild guess you could get a board boots and bindings in some kind of set on sale for 40,000 if your lucky.

havent spent much time in Sapporo so I cant really healp you. I just walked around the centre of town till I found a ski shop last time I got gear in Sapporo.
