Tubby Beaver 209
Still More expensive in the UK. Just be like me and not drive at all!! Petrol prices don't affect me (until I try to go home!! shite!!)
yoroshiku onegai shimasu 2
Serious hat on, but petrol prices do affect you in lots of ways = prices of pretty much everything.
tsondaboy 0
I did a mistake yesterday and filled the car at a place that didn't have its price on a board on the road. Result, I paid 190 yen/lt...
the snowboarding vicar 1
I made that mistake last month when the charges were changing a lot. Now I go to the ones with the prices out. People here do you get normal or "hi-oc"?
tsondaboy 0
Normal for me, my car cant take hi-oc anyway.
Kumapix 0
190yen ??? thieves!
BagOfCrisps 24
Still sounds cheaper than here. I remember in the good old days when a pound a gallon at the motorway service stations was outrageous.
tsondaboy 0
usually you find regular gasoline in Tokyo around 165 yen/lt. 190 was a rip off!
Kumapix 0
shouldn't there be a law forcing gas stations to post prices. Imagine walking into a store, choosing something & taking it to the counter to be told the price as you were paying????
tsondaboy 0
I went around asking in the police station about that and they didn't know. They told me to go and ask at a gas station because they know better the laws involved with gas trading. I asked at a place near my house and they said that theres is no law enforcing high or low limits in the gas price, but usually there is a "gentlemen agreement" between the gas stations at each area about the prices. They also told me that if I want to know whether I was riped off or not better ask a gas station close to where I paid 190 yen/lt. Go figure...
Kumapix 0
good thing you can count on the cops here. How about they pick up a phone and call someone who actually knows the law?
RobBright 35
Annoying thing was that the stations were slow to reduce the prices due their comment 'we bought the oil at higher prices before the price came down so we'll sell it at the price we bought it at to make a nice profit' yet when the government whacked the price up - EVERY station went up on the stroke of midnight. I for one will laugh at these companies when the people they need for their business desert them.
base40 0
on the way to work this morning I passed 6 gas stations - only 2 had the price on view
