mofofunc 0
In all my time on the hill i have always put a little clean snow in my mouth to wet it if i really needed to. Now i have a Camelback so i should be fine, but i have always wondered: What is the truth behind everyone always saying 'dont eat snow, it will just make you thirstier'???? Is it possible that there is something different wit hthe moisture cause it is frozen and therefore it just dehydrates you. Or is it some silly old myth. Anyone know the thruths. Look out for the yellow stuff!!!
me jane 0
I think it's to do with the energy your body needs to melt it. When you mealt snow in a pot you get very little water compared to the volume of snow you started with.
Tubby Beaver 209
I just thought it was due to the fact that it will lower your body temperature if you eat it. Dunno though, maybe some of the more experienced peeps can shed some light
Mantas 3
We don't eat it in Oz because we need it all on the hill.

muikabochi 208
I ate some snow today. I dropped a lens up at the top of Iwappara so I was frantically eating it off as soon as I could! Lens ok!
