alright...I am narrowing down my boot search...

have more questions for those who know...

Does anybody know of a website or some online resource where I can find the stiffness index for all the boots out there??

I know I want a softer boot than what I have now, but its tough to tell in the store, and the stiffness index would be a big help...it also doesnt help that so many of these ski shops in tokyo have daft employees selling the shit...

I tried the Salomon Course XR Japan...really liked it, but 1 shop told me its softer than my heads, and 1 told me its stiffer??? wtf???

thanks again!

never heard of a stiffness chart but here is some info. 04 full line stats. http://travel.canoe.ca/SkiCanadaSpring02/SkiCanadaFall03/03FallbootsA_opt.pdf

I hate pdf cause I find it hard to read.

Danz here is a though bring your old boots into the shop and flex the new boots at the same time as the old boots. Ie right new old left then switch. Or go with knissels good flex and you wont kill your skins.

Danz here are some flex reports use this link to search your boots. Remember every company has a different way of explaining flex. http://www.sportsgearguide.com/scripts/alpineboot.asp

Hope it helps.

thanks asusual fattwins!

spent a few hours trying on boots...and I must say, I think the salomon xr japan are the best fit for me...the knissels were actually the worst fit...they crushed and twisted my foot in all sorts of wierd and painful ways...langes were too narrow at the toes...heads...well, I wanted to stay away from them...the salomons felt real nice...

now just need to find the best price...so far 46000 is the price to beat...ouch
