HelperElfMissy 42
Was his second post spam too? It is gone. These kind of "stealth advertisers" really get up my nose! Thanks for playing the role of Garbo SJ, and removing the trash!
SnowJapan Admin SnowJapan 178 Posted January 22, 2008 Author SnowJapan Admin Share Posted January 22, 2008 The 2nd post was identical to the first post. They were the only 2 threads he viewed - and littered. (I deleted the other one and just left this to make the point!) We find there are 2 main kinds of "stealth advertisers" - the ones like this that are almost random dumb one-off hits (this guy probably just cut and paste onto as many forums as he can, never to come back) and then there's the more intelligent, thoughtful, sneakier kind... the ones that claim total innocence when you take any action and are much more difficult to deal with. They are both extremely annoying in different ways.
Yuki's Passion 1
what kinda action do you guys take SJF? You guys often pull out cans of whoooooooopass??
SnowJapan Admin SnowJapan 178 Posted January 22, 2008 Author SnowJapan Admin Share Posted January 22, 2008 What kind of action? Deleting posts or banning/deleting accounts (like we did with Roger above). Hardly exciting. Just time consuming and annoying.
tsondaboy 0
I still think you should install the "Red Button". Once pressed, all posts and account will be deleted and the violator will be banned. Plus for a bit of an artistic touch, you can have a toilet flushing sound playing. SnowJapan Admin SnowJapan 178 Posted May 29, 2008 Author SnowJapan Admin Share Posted May 29, 2008 This morning we have moved over a number of Trip Reports from the main Snow Talk forum area into this section. There are going to be some we missed, and so if you find any more, please do PM or mail us to let us know and we'll see to it. Thanks.
