You're right. I have been on blizzard days and it was packed. Seems that lots of people go there on the day when the slopes don't appeal to them, whether it's rain, bad snow conditions or even heavy snow.

I went only once but I loved it. Stayed there for a few hours just watching them all. They totally ignore you and I liked standing right by the edge of the bath and then putting their hands over the edge with snow falling on their heads. Wonderful!

Tons of them in there at the moment and not a human around.

 

I wonder if they take much less baths in the summer. I know I'm not mad keen on jumping in an onsen when it's hot and humid already.

Is anyone else like me who has no interest whatsoever in the monkeys? I know I'd never go out of my way to see them if I was to holiday down that way.
