echineko 1
Last night I saw some comedy program called Little Britain. I think it was comedy, but I didn't find funny at all I did not laugh one time. Maybe it is translation thing. Is it popular program?
spook 0
nice review echinkeo! i have never understood why people find the show funny, and i'll laugh at pretty much everything. the english have a bizarre fascination with men wearing dresses. i'm not sure why they find it so amusing and yes, it is a very popular program
stemik 14
its popular in Britain....but i also don't find it very funny. Have you seen "The Office" - that is funny
big-will 7
It's just really poor I have a hard time understanding why it is popular. I haven't seen that much but it seems like it's the same scenes over and over again with the same characters - and they're not that funny in the first place!! The guy in the bookshop... funny?! The guy in the wheelchair... funny?! The woman out of the madhours... funny?! Just unfunny!
Domokun_72dpi 0
What's wrong with you people? It must be lost in translation if you are japanese, I can understand that. But whiteys not liking it?, wow.. I must be the only weird one here, cos I think it's hell funny. Some of it is just totally wrong, but Lou & Andy (In the Wheelchair), that is Gold comedy. So what is your definition of funny? I agree, the office (only seen US version), that is brilliant. And just so you don't all think I have a screw loose, I grew up with fawlty Towers, The Goodies, Monty Python etc....
NutteyCubey 0
"Lou & Andy (In the Wheelchair), that is Gold comedy" What is funny about that? And the fact that every week it is almost EXACTLY THE SAME!!!
Domokun_72dpi 0
Like I said, what's your idea of funny.
NutteyCubey 0
Things that make me laugh. Funny stuff.
Domokun_72dpi 0
Just so everyone else knows what we are talking about: Oh, and I just love the fact that the narrator is Tom Baker from Dr Who
kokodoko 67
ha ha ha Little Britain is hilarious. I nearly always wet myself when i watch it.. Most people i know think that it rocks! "I'm a lady"
spook 0
i guess that's where we all differ... it's just the same shite skits over and over again (but that's just my opinion) the catherine tate show is also balls. "am i bovvered" was amusing the first time i heard it. but for 20 minutes a show, episode after episode... i dunno
Red Indian Chief Tom Rubber 0
I don't get it. I have seen two episodes and they were almost exactly the same. Is it the same characters and jokes in each episode?
bobby12 0
Not only is every episode in a series the same, but EVERY DAMN SERIES is also exactly the same. Perhaps it is an art statement, a la Warhol.
spook 0
yet the mere mention of little britain has some people wetting their pants... v v strange
Go Native 70
I like most of their segments but certainly agree that The Office is funnier (the Brit version).
soubriquet 0
The Office was shite. It's is hard to conceive of anything less funny.
Domokun_72dpi 0
You haven't seen me drunk then Soubs have you? I reckon that would be less funny =) I love the us version:
soubriquet 0
OK. You win. A drunken Scot is less funny than The Office.
soubriquet 0
When I lived in Durham, a drunken voice "singing" in the night always seemed to be attached to a Scot's accent.
Domokun_72dpi 0
lol
Tubby Beaver 209
Little Britain is shite. I find it a bit too distatseful as well. Soubs I can't believe you didn't like the Office, it is quality. Domokun, the US version is gash, the original version is awesome, the humour is drier than Hokkaido powder!! It's a cringe fest, you just think: "don't say it David, don't say it.......hahahahhaha, he said it!!, what a nob!!!" I piss myself at The Office. (not the US one tho, its not really the same) have a look at this site Domo http://www.bbc.co.uk/comedy/theoffice/ P.S There is NOTHING wrong with Drunk Scots....ok??!! veronica 2
I love The Office but don't find Little Britain funny at all - from what I have seen of it anyway. That clip on the previous page. Funny?
Domokun_72dpi 0
Awesome Link Tubby. I have been dying to see the series. Love it:
bobby12 0
The Office is the best thing since Monty Python. What else comes close to it?
grungy-gonads 54
Little Britain is embarrassingly bad. The only sketches that might get a chuckle out of me are the Prime Minister and his gay assistant and the "only gay in the village" one. The 2 blokes as women, bookshop, wheelchair friends are all truly, truly unfunny. The Office on the other hand is total class.
