Video editing software advice

Recommended Posts

Begging some advice from the computer pros...

What do software do you use, recommend? What features should I be looking for? (I don't mind paying for it)

I don't really know what I need cos I've only had the vid cam a few months and all the vid is still in the camera. I want to be able to edit it to make DVD's to send home and to keep for myself. Is is possible to make DVD's to play on my parents region 2 DVD player? I want to be able to make low file size clips to post online too and to be able to edit the vid to cut out all the junk and add funky titles and stills and stuff... oh and to turn all the sideways video around.

cheers \:\)

Sorry I posted this in the snow talk by mistake earlier. Deleted it now. Thanks Spook but I have Windows.

You Jane,

http://www.puremotion.com/

all the way. you don't need a degree to operate this one.

does everything you want, cheap, stable, excellent support from Andy. nice forum on his site.

you could also try Adobe Premiere, but it is BIG, expensive and has been very unstable in the past (haven't tried the latest versions) it is also very difficult to use.
