A landslide is essentially the initial phase of an avalanche. Avalanches are physically quite complex things. Given time they typically evolve from slides to grain flows, then on to liquified and finally turbidity flows. Link to post Share on other sites

But I have informed my mum and a few friends that THERE WILL BE AN EARTHQUAKE OF MAGNITUDE 3 OR ABOVE BETWEEN NOW AND 31ST OCTOBER 2007 SOMEWHERE BETWEEN HOKKAIDO AND OKINAWA. I'm quite confident of this one and so please prepare as necessary. Apart from any physical damage, it really must be mentally very tiring for Niigata folk to go through that again. It really sucks. I have obviously missed you saying before, but if you are serious, thats a rather vague prediction. Middle of the road earthquake to hit somewhere on the Japanese islands (high probability).
