This is something I love about Japan, there are always new activities to look forward to each season.

Spring

drinking while pretending to admire cherry trees

hiking & camping

Summer

drinking while pretending to admire the summer fireworks

hanging out on the beach

escaping the heat in the higher mountains

Autumn

drinking while pretending to admire the autumn colours

hiking & camping

Winter

skiing

(drinking in) onsens

Just got back from another terrific week of skiing, still looking forward to my 20 days at Niseko in 07/08 though, actually I get three seasons this year Jan 07 Niseko, June to October 07 Falls Creek and Dec 07 - Jan 08 Niseko again, must be a record for me.

The way this summer is going so far, I'm not too worried about the temperature. August and September will have to be the proverbial 'scorchers' to make up for the dismal rainy season.

Is it my imagination or has the rainy season seemed to go on forever?

  • 2 weeks later...

I don't want to wish away any of my life, but, I wish it was September. \:\)

I'm going to have the biggest season yet. Got a few trips to Hokkaido, Tohoku and Nagano planned and will get in more than a few weekends as well.
