bobby12 0
sounds difficult. you can just plug in a USB keyboard though right? surely. although it is a sony product, wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if you had to buy a special sony keyboard before it works. evil. ProbablyaCrazyPerson 2
Very probably bobby, but I had only had it a couple of hours when I did that and was still just playing around with things. It sure is a silent runner, can hardly tell it is turned on.

minus 1
I know there's not enough product on the shelves for PS3 and Wii but just look at the sales of the DS lite last week: Nintendo DS Lite - 485,584 - Wii - 279,277 - PSP - 138,588 - PlayStation 3 - 76,882 - PlayStation 2 - 46,209 - Xbox 360 - 17,213 Over 50% of the population must have one of them things by now. big-will 7
Those are huge numbers. Really trouncing the PSP. Question about PS3 and Wii. I noticed on the boxes in the shop that the software seems to come with a region code and "Japan only" message. But I thought that this PS gen software from anywhere would play on any machine - not right? How about the Wii? Tried to find info on the web but what I found didn't really answer that (and found conflicting info as well).
scouser 4
I'm no expert but was round a friends house yesterday. They have a Wii and said that it is region locked.... no overseas games will work on the Japanese machine and vice-versa. He's pretty much up on these things and so probably reliable. It was actually quite a lot of fun. We played this sports game. Looks to be a fun machine for when there's a few people around.
SirJibAlot 0
i'm scared of Wii...i might impale my plasma with the remot in a mad frenzy of Nintennis. http://www.wiidamage.com/ -SJA
dale#1 1
Yes Wii is region locked. PS3 for games is apparently not - but it is actually up to the developers of the games apparently.
nozzler 0
Well had my Wii for a few now and what can I say.... it's fun! Great with a few people round, and people who are not normally interested in games have enjoyed it as well. Fun machine. Got the Wii Sports and a Monkey Ball game. I'm going to wait for some more grown up type software to come out before buying any more discs for it - will be interesting to see what a racing game is like with this thing. hughcohen 0
how accurately do the motion sensors work, do the controllers register very small movements too, or do you have to move them a fair bit?
nozzler 0
They are excellent. I was surprised at just how good they are. The system is extremely well made and not in the least bit annoying.
hughcohen 0
I got a gift certificate from work for Christmas, it would go a good way towards buying a nintendo Wii system.. not sure, might just buy some shoes and clothes though, hhm...
big-will 7
I know which sounds the most fun! Thanks for the region info.
soubriquet 0
Slightly tangential, but I just did a scan of the boys room. Reading from right to left: N64, Gamecube, Wii, PS2 (two, one for each zone), DS. No wonder they like it here. They love Zelda on the Wii.
muikabochi 208
You bought that for them soubs? Playing them all when they are not with you? Actually it looks like a lot of fun. I'm even tempted myself.
soubriquet 0
I only bought the N64 and half the Wii. Most of it was second hand. The rest was bought by soubriquette, or themselves. The J-spec PS2 cost 10,000 Yen. I'm immune to computer games. Too old, matey.
scouser 4
With all those machines, how do they choose what to play!? Those DS Lite things look much better than the original one. Can't believe how many of those things they are selling... do people buy 5 each or something?
muikabochi 208
I thought the "oldie market" was one Nintendo was after with the Wii
wakaran 1
Any Wii owners created their own Miis? Or comments about the virtual console... that looks great being able to play all the classics on the machine.
grungy-gonads 54
They are the little avatar things you can make right? Can you use them in games and stuff?

soubriquet 0
Not enough it seems, but it's their holiday. It's hard getting them on ths snow before midday, but I try not to hold the reins too tight. They get 11 months of that from their mother.
TheOrange 0
If they can spare one of those machines... How much longer are they with you soubs?
soubriquet 0
You're welcome to borrow, but they come equipped with two lads. We are together until the end of January. I'm not looking forward to taking them back to Perth.
