number9 0
They're equal opportunity. Smash My Wii: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nRbLHgI1zus I've only played the PS3 demo, it looks good, but I don't have an HDTV (that's still a huge investment, at least for a proper 1080p) and there's no particular game that I want yet. (And I'm sure the HD-DVD vs BlueRay battle isn't helping either.) I bought the Wii and Zelda on launch day, it's a fun game and remote takes a little getting used to. But it's originally a GC game, so I'll have to try other games when they come out to truly experience Wii. Sports and Wario are tempting, but I think I'll wait to buy it second hand. ProbablyaCrazyPerson 2
Hey number9 - did you preorder or did you just walk in and get one?
muikabochi 208
Not seen either a PS3 or a Wii in the shops round here. All have the sold out sign on them.
number9 0
A friend of mine walked into a small game shop around 11am (well after it opened) and bought one. I wanted the "launch experience" so we lined up for a raffle ticket (about 70% were "winners" anyways) because all the guaranteed sales lines were completely sold out the night before. Like the DS though, there are probably more supply problems in big cities and less in the country side.
viv&kev 0
We wanted to get one for a friend, but they are very hard to find still.
XL 0
Supply problems in the countryside number9. PS3 is nowhere to be found. It will probably be a few months before you can realistically go into a shop and be able to get one easily.
2pints-mate 0
Wii sold out here in something like 10 seconds. My friend has a Wii, will go check it out this week/
grungy-gonads 54
I had a go on a Wii yesterday in a shop. It was quite fun. Can't see me wanting to do all that moving all the time though.
2pints-mate 0
Wii. Played with it for 20 minutes or so. It was fun. I can see the appeal wearing off though so it'll be interesting to see what they have planned for it and using the new system. I think I would prefer a normal controller myself. xxx 2
What games were you playing 2pints? That Wario game looks like a lot of fun. The system looks like it would be great drunk with friends but apart from that..
klingon 10
The Wii is getting a lot of attention now with all those Flying Wee Controllers
Farmer_Fred 0
hi whats the price of a wii in Japan roughly?
slimeypete 0
Good timing yesterday. I walked into a game/electronics shop by chance 5 minutes after they delivered three new 60GB PS3s... so picked one of them up. Not set it up but I'll give you impressions when it is all up and running some time this week.
peterson 0
How much did you pay slimeypete, if you don't mind me asking
slimeypete 0
Just slightly over 60,000 yen. My g/f looked at it and said it looked like a grand piano. I think it was the black shiny finish that did it.
slimeypete 0
Quote: hi whats the price of a wii in Japan roughly? The street price of a Wii is 25000 yen. (Still can't get them in the shops though, but when things get to normal that is the shop price)
Farmer_Fred 0
ah ok, thanks for the prices. I'll be sticking with my gameboy for now then. I can see the PS3's resemblance to a grand piano, lol!
joshnii 2
Wiimotes are dangerous! http://www.joystiq.com/2006/12/21/wii-tarded-wiinjurie-jokes-escalating/ number9 - still having fun?
scouser 4
And another thing - do you stand up to Wii or is sitting down ok too?
ProbablyaCrazyPerson 2
Bagged a ps3 last night - seems there are a few more available now, though you still have to be lucky with timing so the store guy said. Got Motor Storm with it - mad off road buggy racing that seems like a lot of fun. I'm actually tying this using my ps3 and tv as well. Quite difficult using a contrller.
