JellyBelly 1
I have just recently moved into a new place and it's great... apart from the bath. I usually take showers so it's no big deal, but the bath is just so small I find it even hard to get in sitting down. It's almost cube shaped. Thing is, there is plenty of space for it to be much bigger. I'll have to try and take a pic.
Ezorisu 0
Aren't tiny Japanese apato (or hotel room) bathrooms great?! I always smack my elbows into the shower/bath walls when I am washing my hair. Also, I can't get far enough away from the shower curtain to prevent "cling".
Kumapix 0
that cling is nasty!
bushpig 0
Always makes me think of the bathroom scene in Me Myself and Irene. The night after his "rampage" with the chick. "Irene, why am I peeing like I was up alnight having sex?" To stop the wayward piss-angle he pulled a self-induced "cling" on the shower curtain!
me jane 0
But they are wonderful if you have a hangover and need to throw up in the sink while sitting on the toilet.
bushpig 0
That is a gross thought! Especially when considering that you will probably be the victim of "cling" at a later date!
bushpig 0
ah, you just meant the small bathroom size in general?? Sorry, my bad! I thought you meant the silly curtains!
ncorrenti 0
JB, I too have one of the cube-shaped baths in my apartment. It's kinda like a shower tray with high walls. I really miss having a regular bathtub where I can stretch my legs out. Shaving in a tiny square tub is a real pain in the arse.
soubriquet 0
Maybe you should stop trying to shave your arse in the bath..
oblivion 5
Mine is more oblong than cubed. Still, I can't really fit in it and relax. I remember when I first saw it and thought wtf?!
me jane 0
In their defence it is nice that the water is so deep and you can sit in it up to your neck. I like the reheater function too. I just put the plug in my bath and then push a button. It sings to me from a box on the wall in the kitchen when it's ready.
klingon 10
Can both of you fit in though?
me jane 0
Not sure if me Tarzan would fit but Mini me Tarzan seems to be okay
BagOfCrisps 24
Those cube baths are curious. I thought Japanese people liked to relax in a bath --- how do they do that when they are in a sitting crouched up position?
me jane 0
I don't mind it. It the bath is too big (like at an onsen or posh hotel) there's nothing to brace yourself against and you end up floating away and getting your book wet.
veronica 2
You're right about the books. I gave up on that. But I prefer a bigger bath to the ones where you can only sit down.
r45 4
I'm lucky my bath is almost big enough to lie down in. Quite unusual it seems. I think when they were choosing my aparto for me they tried to get one as western style as possible for me. Cheers!
rach 1
Is that avatar an accurate up-to-date view me jane?
akibun 0
My bath is also so small, but I am used to it. In summer I enjoy shower more for cooling down.
