France's main strikers in 98 were Stephane Guivarch (sp), who Dagleish signed pre-tournament for Newcastle, and Djorkaeff.

They were both rubbish. Henry and Trezugeut did play, but the important goals came from defence (Thuram in the semi) or midfield (Zidane in the final).

Anyroad, regardless of who plays

Come on In-ger-lund! lol.gif

Mate, Zicos track record over the last 2 or 3 years hasn't exactly been inspiring. Half-arsed, last minute, injury time flashes from his players to snatch wins or draws when they really didn't look like or deserve to win. ;\)

guivarch didn't really play. He was injured in the first game and didn't come back til the game against paraguay. He got in the final too but anyways, it was Dugarry and djorkaeff. but they sucked anyways clap.gif

Japans games are far far less 'exciting' (annoying?) if you watch them with the tv volume turned down. If you just listened without looking you'd think they were the most exciting and skillful games ever.

Whoooo-hooooo!

Wayne Rooney could be fit for England's World Cup group match against Sweden on June 20 after scans revealed that his broken foot was healing ahead of schedule.

The Times claims that 'recent scans have put Rooney and his doctors in good heart' and that, if the ManYoo's striker present rate of recuperation is maintained, he will return almost two weeks ahead of initial forecasts.

yeah seems the papers are having him on a bike and back in training by 2nd June.

It would be really good if we had 4 strikers who could run, wouldn't it ;\)

A hint of sacrasm there perhaps will?

Japan seem very erratic, and not that brilliant when they are at their best, so probably won't get any further than 1st knockouts.
