Has anyone tried this "surstromming", apparently Swedens national dish.... a fermented herring, some says smells like garbage left out in the sun for days.

 

Sounds like it would go well with natto.

 

It seems that some airlines are banning it , "classified along with dangerous weapons like shoe bombs and firearms." lol.gif

BoC that's funazushi. It tastes like fishy cheese. Or cheesy fish.

 

(BTW, do you know you can right click on pictures and look at their Properties and thereby gain most of the info you seek? You can go and have a look at the page it's on etc.)

But you would note the Japanese URL and perhaps conclude that it was the Japanese stinky fish rather than the Swedish stinky fish... Ne.

 

Next time you come, you should try some of these off-beat delicacies. Grasshoppers, river lavae, bee grubs, rabbit dropping tempura - all good.

 

BTW, I thought "surstromming" was what Germany did to Poland in 1939. Or if not that, isn't it what punks do at their horrible concerts?

Hmm. It could just as easily have been a special they were doing about Swedish food.
