So I was sedately coasting along to my buddy who was struggling (only us two in the area) when I was felled at an incredable speed by a skier. Needless to say I now have a chip, about 1cm long on the deck of my board.

Any advice on repairing would be appreciated. Don`t want water to be getting inside....

Sorry to hear that, I had a similar situation last year. This won't help you so much in your situation, but I took mine to a specialist sports shop up here and they saw to it. Did a good job too.

I had the same thing happen to a really old pair of skis years back.

You cannot fix the chip but you can make it waterproof by using an expoxy resin or just straight resin. Pack it in and smooth it off a little before drying so you don't need to sand too much and further damage your top sheet.

The shop will do the smae thing so don't waste your money on taking it in.

Any sports shop carrying surf boards will seel water proof epoxy resin which you shoulod be able to get for about 2,000 yen.

The only other thing you might wanna check for is whether the ding has caused structural damage and created a weak spot in your board.
