SnowConnection 0
If you go to Kagura/Mitsumata, this would help you... http://www.geocities.jp/snkagura/Access/Access.htm
Californian Samurai 0
It will cost you around 6,000 yen each way. Give or take 500 yen. I always drive but the challenge is returning home on Sunday. Use this link to predict traffic. It is quite accurate. http://search.jhnet.go.jp/info/hdc/index.php3?lang=en Signing off from Myoko Suginohara!
LiquidX 0
If a few of you or a full car - go by car. Easier, less hassle, more fun, less expensive and you can go where you want when you want. Only big minus is the chance of getting caught in traffic. If you can go midweek though that wouldn't be a problem at all.
tsondaboy 0
Go to any travel agency and you will find plans that include both way sincansen tickets plus Yuzawa area resort lift tickets starting from 7000 for March. I won’t recommend you the car because there is a high possibility that you will get caught in traffic on the Kanetsu High way plus that the tolls till Yuzawa exit is 4600 yen one-way. Check this also for some more on Gala. http://www.snowjapan.com/e/resorts/resort_review.php?resortName=GALA%20Yuzawa&id=5 p.s. it is a very nice place if you go on a weekday, but DON’T EVEN THINK OF GOING THERE FOR THE WEEKEND!!!!! happyhappy 0
20? 40? For parking the car??? Are you serious???
Yuki's Passion 1
Yup, that 40,000 was for a covered garage though. Nuts eh? Will still have to do some more searching before considering getting a car. Cant justify 240,000 yen/year just to park the damn thing
Fattwins 0
save some cash first then decide but really I cant say that you need a car at all.
Yuki's Passion 1
yeah I know but it would be nice to have one. Maybe I should just get another motorcycle

Roger's head 0
Yamakashi thats crazy money just to park. Mine is 8000 (and I don't really like paying that...) Where are you (where is Ashiya)??
marnix 0
Variable costs of my car are about equal to a return Skink ticket. So I always take the car.
grungy-gonads 54
Natsukashii!! I used to study things and I remember the phrase "variable costs". Haven't heard it for yonks before you mentioned it. Thanks for the blast.
Misaki desu 0
I like going by the car easy to find route and straight there. Sometimes train andbus is very inconvenient.
marnix 0
Well if you start to include 30000 to 50000 Yen a month parking and insurance, depreciation there is now way the car will be cheaper then the train, but it will stay more convenient.
@tokyo 14
50000 yen a month parking and insurance?? That sounds way too expensive. Well that would be 4 times what I'm paying.
