gamera 0
Hum... usually around 1,000 yen when i have lunch somewhere outside? If it's Mcdonalds, ramen shops, probably less than that. If it's in a restaurant in some ski slopes, obviously a lot more!
1st plum 0
I had a wonderful early lunch today at a restaurant, was taken there by my boss. I think the bill was about 2500-3000 yen each, but I wasn't paying. Very good it was. Near Harajuku.
misorano 1
347yen for a can of Campbells Clam Chowder from A-Coop.(good for 3 lunches) 200yen or so for a loaf for french bread to dip in chowder. OR 800yen for the monster burger at Gusto.
krotch 0
It all depends where I'm living. Here in Tokyo, Japan, I'm paying around 600 - 1000 yen for a meal. In Pyongtaek City, S.Korea, I was paying around 17,000 won for a meal. In Newmarket, England, around 15 quid for a meal. Oddly enough, the most expensive city in the world and it has the cheapest meals.
me jane 0
15 pounds for lunch Where did you eat?
krotch 0
It's not so much where I eat, it's how much I need to eat to get full. That's where the price difference is. Here in Japan, I can roll to Yoshinoya and buy three 300 yen beef bowls and be good. Rice is very filling. In England, even going to McDonalds, I need 2 combo meals to fill me up. Course, I'd just hit some Asian place anyways. In London, across the 4 lane street from Kings Cross Station, there's a really good little Asian restuarant. There's also a really good Sushi place in Piccadilly Circus. I'd give you directions from the McDonalds, but there's like 15 in that area.
indosnm 0
3 bowls of gyudon? Fark! One does me! These days I find that most places serve way too much rice... I usually opt for 6-9 piece sushi from my local supa. Only 550 yen and blooody fresh. Top it off with a bowl of miso soup at home with heaps of tofu and I'm done.
iambenw 0
5000 yen a month buys me a school lunch fit for a 12 year old girl every day. It NEVER fills me up though . My record is 9 quarters.
cheeseman 1
We went to a cheese fair yesterday in Ikebukuro - it was fabulous. Lots of cheeses to tast - some I had never tried before - and lots of cheese fans. Fantastic, what more could you want.
Roger's head 0
iambenw - I remember the kyushoku school lunches fondly where I used to be. They were really good and there was a lot of it, it used to be my main meal of the day.
Yuki's Passion 1
Lunch at the school cafeteria costs me about 400-500 yen. Not the most delicious food but its hot. I used to bring leftovers sometimes but since I have a roommate we finish it all off.
miteyak 0
I would always eat out for lunch in Osaka for around a thousand yen. Here, in Hobart, a similar experience (food quantity, quality, ambience), seems to run at least 1500 yen. I'm more inclined to knock up a packed lunch now.
tsondaboy 0
Usually around 500-1000 yen a day. Todays lunch at the Uni syokudo cost me only 340 yen, but it was crap as usuall.
Rafster 0
I have heard food in Tokyo is expensive!!!!! I am staying in Shinjiku - an expensive area? can anyone reccomend some good places to go to and eat??????
big-will 7
It can be really expensive, but there are tons of cheaper (and good) places to eat as well.

veggieman 0
Chip butties! It is a long long time since I had a good chip buttie! Remind me what they're like. No, wait, don't.....
misorano 1
Weegeoff: You and me both mate. Gotta have real butter on them though as margarine spoils the taste. Also crinkle cut make better butties than shoestring.
