Heading up to Hokkaido and will be hiking in the Niseko area. Heard something about trail riding in the half pipe - anyone know about this?

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks Akibun,

A friend of mine sent me that link a few days ago knowing I might be interested and I've been trying to find more information about it as it sounds like fun. Haven't been very successful however!

I was wondering if anyone on here who lives in the area or has been there knows anything else about it.

And qwerty, I hope they are treating them well too!

Cheers,

Well worth a visit!

Great trails have been cut into Hirafu's summer jungle, leading up and past the half-pipe. The 30min course is 3000 yen, and the 90min 9000 yen per person. Beginners and experienced welcome. (Experienced are allowed to explore the mountain without an instructor.) All equipment provided.

Contact Sakai-san (nickname "Swat") on 090 5982 4745.

Open seven days, 9am to sunset.

More info to follow in a feature soon...

Because you are not Japanese who'd rather go overseas since it's cheaper than domestic travel. - not the case anymore but some places are. If you are a foreigner visiting you'd probably won't make a fuss about it.

I'd rather go Alaska !
