All Playstation2's created equal ?

Recommended Posts

I dont know that.

Most game is 6800 yen, but you can usually get them about 5800 with a discount.

Maybe it is best to buy a machine in Japan? Or maybe bring a PS2 to Japan from US and use only US game.

I am not 100% sure about a US PS2 working here in Japan.

But I am pretty much certain about Japanese game not working on US machine.

Good luck! Must go now......

If you buy it in the states and haul it over it should work in Japan. Voltage and TV type are the same (or virtually). Games and machine are area coded, however, and so a US machine cannot play Japanese games (so that Sony can decide to rip-off certain parts of the world -mainly Europe). You can get them "chipped" to ignore region coding, but this can be risky and I don't know where to do it in Japan.
