Yeah, Sagamihara to Numata using Ken-o & Kan-etsu is 155km, about Y4,600 in tolls. Lot of good skiing off that exit, Oze White World, Kawaba as Muika says, Marunuma Kogen. Trains to anywhere from Sagamihara would be a nightmare.

Somewhere in the back of the skiwear boxes is my old one-piece bought in 1983 and used until 2004, only thing really wrong with it is the sort of rubbery info sticker inside has deteriorated into flakey pieces of `stuff' and belt buckle broke after about 8 years so suit kind of hangs without a waist (which may actually be a positive). Does the snow fall in Niseko? Not sure when, but sometime during the season I plan to grab one of the Sapporo-stay packages and ski Teine, so will be sure to get in touch.

As JA says, there's a lot that sucks about getting old but it still beats the only alternative.

Canasta! Used to love that when I was a kid, later graduated to single-deck cutthroat pinochle. I've never played bridge, but it's basically pinochle although I think all the bidding conventions must be PITA to learn.
