  1. Check out Torpark (google it), believe that can do this in a totally legal way
  2. Niseko, then will be travelling around Japan from April ^^
  3. Iris scanning has been around for a long time, it's just they haven't really advertised it to anyone.. And as that snippet says, you have to register for it on departure. Seems like a good plan tho - no-one is using it yet so you can waltz through immigration in no time. I've forgotten to register the past three times in a row. Doh.
  4. Trusay MikePow..! (Though I'm from Gloucestershire - not a million miles away) Hoping for some fresh on Sunday tho..
  5. was there until may in 2005 and there was still good stuff to be had, even some big late dumps at end of april and start of may. might have to go high as the runs into resort can be patchy, but that's not really an issue. blackcomb will also probs be closed by then, so will likely just be whistler mountain open. if you get bored, can always spark up a bbq down by one of the lakes - good times
  6. MOFOFUNC, apparently i'm not allowed to send PM yet cuz my account is still pretty new(!) so will send an email to the address on your profile. cheers
  7. cheers for the replies guys. @MOFOFUNC - sounds good dude, i'll send you a PM with contact deets @thursday. - probably just vacation, not planning to work unless there's some instructor or DJ work going - that i wouldn't mind @KevKastle - the worst season in record in whistler was still better than an average season in europe! but i guess had pretty high expectations given the hype
  8. just wondering if any of you guys are out in niseko for the season? i'm headed out tomorrow for 2 months or more and would be cool to catch up with some pplz for beers/riding as am flying solo. can't wait - looks epic. first time riding in japan, but spent 04/05 season in whistler - their worst season on record sweet.
  9. ok so i found all the pensions and hotels info etc, but am having a v hard time finding anything like i described before... is that kind of thing just not how it works in japan? i spent a season in whistler before and most people live in houses or apartments.. anyways, i think the grand hirafu area looks best because there seems to be the most going on there. is that a reasonable assumption? thanks, jon
  10. well i'm planning on heading to niseko, would be looking for something cheap but can afford not to live in squalor, if you know what i mean having my own room in a shared apartment/house/whatever would be ideal. happy to share with locals/natives too as am also trying to learn nihongo. thanks for the info guys, didn't realise there was an accommodation section elsewhere.. i'll have a search round and see what i turn up..
  11. hey, am looking for exactly the same kind of thing for feb - april, did you receive any response to this post? no-one has any pointers? thanks, jon
