Pachinko? Really? I couldn't think of much worse than that!
Neither can I ... but these blokes want to try the "real" Japan ... so ?
Besides, the kicker is in the booze later!
They ARE kiwis, after all! ...
-
What the ... take them to a Pachinko place, let them lose lots of money and then take them to a top notch Izakaya and let them drown their sorrows.
Then, next morning, a communal bath and some good food - they'll go home with a heap of memories, and think you are their new bestie!

me too TBF, the guard showed a lot of restraint…..as did the 2 guys who intervened. I think the last guy was straining at the leash and the cameraman knew it. Apparently the cameraman is also in the nick
From what we were shown on breakfast television "news" this morning, the idiots involved were at least sensible enough to realise that they'd made a total arse of themselves, the vid had "gone viral" (whatever the F*** that means nowadays!) and handed themselves in at the Brisvegas police station. Seems their families might have had a few words in the shell-like!
We were not privy to the entire video, and I could not be bothered to find it all - much more interesting things to do with my life than seek out crap on youchoob!
Latest I have heard is that one is in custody awaiting court, another is released on "strict" bail conditions (whatever THAT means!)

But you have your life savings to enjoy, don't you?
Errrrm... Life costs - savings are when you don't have stuff to spend it on. I ski Japan, from Aus that'll chew up a bit of "life savings" right there! Not COMplaining, just EXplaining.
-
Fosters is like drinking knatts piss, they should have kept it in Aus!
And that, my friend, is the very reason we got rid of it!
Mind you, it's better cold than any of that war\m swill you Brits drink!
-
No probs, Chris ... glad to be of service!
Thought it would add some levity! Apparently not!
-
Knee? You're lucky to have a knee!
... When I were lad ...

Mad Poms is who!
Best export Aus ever did - anything to get rid of it!

The Senior Alphabet
A is for apple, and B is for boat,
That used to be right, but now it won't float!
Age before beauty is what we once said, but let's be a bit more realistic instead.
Try this one ...
A's for arthritis,
B for the bad back,
C's for the chest pains, perhaps car-di-ac?
D is for dental decay and decline,
E is for eyesight, can't read that top line!
F is for fissures and fluid retention,
G is for gas which I'd rather not mention.
H is for high blood pressure - I'd rather it low;
I for incisions with scars you can show.
J is for joints, out of socket, won't mend,
K is for knees that crack when they bend.
L 's for libido, what happened to sex?
M is for memory, I forget what comes next.
N is neuralgia, in nerves way down low;
O is for osteo, bones that don't grow!
P for prescriptions, I have quite a few, just give me a pill and I'll be good as new!
Q is for queasy, is it fatal or flu?
R is for reflux, one meal turns to two.
S is for sleepless nights, counting my fears,
T is for Tinnitus, bells in my ears!
U is for urinary, troubles with flow,
V for vertigo, that's 'dizzy,' you know.
W for worry, now what's going 'round?
X is for X ray, and what might be found.
Y for another year I'm left here behind,
and ...
Z is for zest I still have - in my mind!
-
Facebook? What's that?
More importantly, if someone `friends' you here in SJ, how do you `friend' them back? (Assuming of course that you wish to do so)
You gotta be joaken! Facebook ... you don't know it?
As for the friending on here, I have NFI - might need to ask the admins? Oh, the friending still works, but the PMs don't What the?

Wonder if people will start trekking wearing helmets?
And ... would that be effective?
A basketball sized rock would hardly even notice any commercially available helmet!

Is it just me, or are 80% of the people in the "people you may know" feature on facebook people that I do know, but I deliberately choose not to be friends with?
Or friends of people I DO know, but who live in US, so not part of my circle of "casual acquaintances" even! I just ignore FB's attempts to get more personal details from me. Stuff 'em! They already know too much about me!
-
Perhaps, they are human! Most of us want the "best" price!

I've had the overwhelming urge the last few days.... to grab one of my guitars, crank up the Marshall and rip a few bars of Van Halen's "Eruption".... strange.... ......
Mate ... you said it!

Where was God when you needed him?
Of with the rest of the mythical personages! Watching the comedy we call life!

He's put a bit on
and that was a she, I think!

Oldest kit would be the ex-hire skis that I ride on regularly. I bought them as 2 seasons old, in 2005, and they still work well.
Will take them to Japow again in January. Might try to find some new planks while I'm there (if I can convince +1 to look the other way!)

+1 had a ski boot "explode" on the way down hill at Thredbo some years ago. Right under the lift line too, she was doing nicely and sudden stop and face-plant! WTF?? Stood up and realised that right foot was damned cold (and more than a bit wet!) I was down hill of her, so didn't see it (Damn!!!) She ended up getting a lift back to the centre on a skidoo that happened to be passing, and had a "shopping excuse" for the afternoon.

David,
Having spent some time moderating an international forum in the past (nothing to do with snow, but olive oil) I understand the effort that is required to keep a place like these fora looking like there's no effort at all!
You have had (and continue to have) my admiration for the way in which you have always kept your cool (at least in public ) and kept the place ticking over with very little angst.
Sad to see the forums head to the big bit bucket in the sky, but progress is progress, and if you have better things to do with your time, then that's the right decision!
I'll miss you guys!
John
