  1. David,

Having spent some time moderating an international forum in the past (nothing to do with snow, but olive oil) I understand the effort that is required to keep a place like these fora looking like there's no effort at all!

You have had (and continue to have) my admiration for the way in which you have always kept your cool (at least in public ;) ) and kept the place ticking over with very little angst.

Sad to see the forums head to the big bit bucket in the sky, but progress is progress, and if you have better things to do with your time, then that's the right decision!

    I'll miss you guys!

    John

  2. me too TBF, the guard showed a lot of restraint…..as did the 2 guys who intervened. I think the last guy was straining at the leash and the cameraman knew it. Apparently the cameraman is also in the nick

From what we were shown on breakfast television "news" this morning, the idiots involved were at least sensible enough to realise that they'd made a total arse of themselves, the vid had "gone viral" (whatever the F*** that means nowadays!) and handed themselves in at the Brisvegas police station. Seems their families might have had a few words in the shell-like!

We were not privy to the entire video, and I could not be bothered to find it all - much more interesting things to do with my life than seek out crap on youchoob!

Latest I have heard is that one is in custody awaiting court, another is released on "strict" bail conditions (whatever THAT means!)

  3. The Senior Alphabet

A is for apple, and B is for boat,

That used to be right, but now it won't float!

Age before beauty is what we once said, but let's be a bit more realistic instead.

    Try this one ...

    A's for arthritis,

    B for the bad back,

C's for the chest pains, perhaps car-di-ac?

D is for dental decay and decline,

E is for eyesight, can't read that top line!

F is for fissures and fluid retention,

G is for gas which I'd rather not mention.

    H is for high blood pressure - I'd rather it low;

I for incisions with scars you can show.

J is for joints, out of socket, won't mend,

K is for knees that crack when they bend.

L 's for libido, what happened to sex?

M is for memory, I forget what comes next.

    N is neuralgia, in nerves way down low;

O is for osteo, bones that don't grow!

P for prescriptions, I have quite a few, just give me a pill and I'll be good as new!

Q is for queasy, is it fatal or flu?

R is for reflux, one meal turns to two.

S is for sleepless nights, counting my fears,

T is for Tinnitus, bells in my ears!

U is for urinary, troubles with flow,

V for vertigo, that's 'dizzy,' you know.

W for worry, now what's going 'round?

X is for X ray, and what might be found.

Y for another year I'm left here behind,

    and ...

Z is for zest I still have - in my mind!

  4. Facebook? What's that? :wakaranai:

More importantly, if someone `friends' you here in SJ, how do you `friend' them back? (Assuming of course that you wish to do so)

You gotta be joaken! Facebook ... you don't know it?

As for the friending on here, I have NFI - might need to ask the admins? Oh, the friending still works, but the PMs don't What the?

  5. Is it just me, or are 80% of the people in the "people you may know" feature on facebook people that I do know, but I deliberately choose not to be friends with?

Or friends of people I DO know, but who live in US, so not part of my circle of "casual acquaintances" even! I just ignore FB's attempts to get more personal details from me. Stuff 'em! They already know too much about me!

  6. +1 had a ski boot "explode" on the way down hill at Thredbo some years ago. Right under the lift line too, she was doing nicely and sudden stop and face-plant! WTF?? Stood up and realised that right foot was damned cold (and more than a bit wet!) I was down hill of her, so didn't see it (Damn!!!) She ended up getting a lift back to the centre on a skidoo that happened to be passing, and had a "shopping excuse" for the afternoon.
