  1. Thanks, I have been doing some research and found out that you can use Garmin or Magellan in asia but there won't be many details unless you buy it here or install the software like you said. Anyways, I decided to go with a V.I.O. POV 1 as my xmas present to myself rather than a gps.
  2. I'm looking for a handheld GPS system that has preloaded worldwide maps. I want to be able to use it in North America, Asia, and Europe. Any GPS gurus here that can point me in the right direction?
  3. My bro lives in VT and picked up a copy when he was in Kingston last week. He says its sick, he's ripping me a copy, should be here in a week or so. My copies of Claim and UTI will tide me over but I am really looking forward to Reasons.
  4. This is one of the very few times where one can actually see how backwards Japan can be. As a gaijin living in Kanagawa I have been turned down entrance to various establishments because I am not Japanese. I have even seen signs on doors that say "Japanese Only". Yes I agree that if its your business you have the right to deny anyone service. But blanket bans such as these are outright discrimination and I believe discrimination on any level is a sign of ignorance. Can you imagine what would happen if someone in the US or any other country for that matter, put a sign up in their business

THAT is how people get caught up in disasters that could have been avoided. Like the young bloke who died in Aus this season who walked out onto a cornice on a lovely warm day - and it gave way below him. With a bit more knowledge he might not have ventured out there, trajedy might have been aver

  8. This is simple. There is no such thing as avalanches in Niseko
  9. they don't do it in feb and march because of the river. you get lowered into a raft on the river so when its rageing they can't do it.
  10. Just got back from my second time bungy jumping. Both times have been great so I wanted to throw up a post. The guys that run Bungy Japan in Minikami are really cool, they do a fantastic job. I have gone there with 2 different groups and both times everyone came home super stoked. I am hooked now and will be going back for more. It’s a 42 meter high bridge over a river. Today we were treated to a group of rafters capsizing and scrambling to rescue themselves while we were harnessing up. If you have any questions about it feel free to ask. I highly recommend it for eve
  11. Watched the newest Rambo movie this week, it was freaking badass. None stop action, no BS, he rips out a guys throat with his bare hand, and he vaporizes a guy with a 50 cal at point blank range. If you like violence this move is a must see.

  13. I have a feeling i will be purchasing a freeride bike this summer. There is so much potential in Hakuba, I really wish it was more developed and that was more of a DH/freeride scene there. In college we had a good group we would actually spend days just digging and building not riding at all. Full on DH takes serious commitment. The bikes are so heavy and they need so much maintenance. Having a DH set up in Japan would be nice, but there are not many places that I know of were its really neccessary. A nice freeride set up can cost between 2-5K depending on how much travel you
  14. First resort ever skied was Snowshoe Mountain in West Virginia. Anyone else been there? My guess is no
  15. Chances are your gonna have good snow up there. I was there this past Jan for 3 days and it was dumping nonstop the entire time.
