  1. Hi we got back last and tried out the restaurants just north(?) of the hotel and they were great, the only one i know the name of is Pirateman, and the American guy that runs it is a good guy. We also ate another small one down that way (up the stairs with the blue lights) and it was very good, just a husband and wife about 20 seats. From the entrance of the hotel (near the talking tree), walk through the car park and between two of the buildings, down the road and turn left, to get to Pirateman, and out to the main road and turn left for the others, it is about 100m.   2. I really like Maui Jim, like all good sunnies, not cheap, but they do offer good warranty on arms. I had mine replaced twice.
  3. Just back from our third year in Niseko and noticed that the restaurants were notably quieter this year. Bang Bang for example was v quiet on one of the nights we ate there (the food was still excellent though), and all the other restaurants we ate at we able to secure bookings except a bu cha, which was booked out for 3 weeks in advance (and quite arrogant about it) the mountain though (and seico mart) seemed as busy as usual
  4. we are heading back to Niseko this year with our 2 girls (8 and 10), this will be our 3rd year in a row, and it gets my vote for good family resort. Have stayed at hotels (Park hotel and Alpen Hotel), both are ski in-ski out and have inhouse onsens. Breakfast is included, but we ate out every night and the kids always found something to eat (2 very fussy girls). Mountain provides lots of terrain for the kids and the +1 (long wide groomers), as well as stuff for me!! Night skiing every night when the kids were inside.
