I guess all-nighters are an option. But it would be good to know what is open on those days. I'm thinking that because the majority of Japanese aren't Christian, they most likely don't celebrate the same days that we do.

Hey Guys, I'm traveling up to Niseko/Hirafu in the next couple of months and wondered what the go was with (aussie) mobile phone coverage. I have a tri-band/3G Nokia and from what I can gauge it 'should' work ok in Japan. I know global roaming is pretty exxy, but I dn't intend on using it regularly, cept maybe to call my mates back in Aus to gloat about the powder. Now my question(s) are... - Do Australian phones work ok in Japan (provided they're tri-band/3G/etc) - Is there any mobile phone network coerage on the mountain...or the base? Thnks
