pants
SirJibAlot replied to Yuki's Passion's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
The winter festa is coming to Osaka this weekend. You could always get pants there.... -
You guys are frieghtening me. There were just 2 massive dumps in Boston and my Evo is sitting out in the elements. I've asked a collegue that lives near by to take a picture...if he sends one I'll post it. As of this post, over a foot had fallen in this storm and it's still going. I don't get back to Boston until Jan - I may not be able to move my car this winter!

Sleeper Trains...
SirJibAlot replied to ShayDn's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
I did the Ginga from Osaka to Tokyo once (missed the last Shink), I found it to be quite civilized (except for the rock solid Japanese pillows). Bring your own pillow, and you'll be golden! -
So, you've dodged the question at hand. The question is not how you would escape Mcguiver - it's what would you have wish you had brought? some examples - A bottle of Jack Daniels and a straw - A deck of cards and some poker chips - A laptop with a Softbank card, so you could TR from the gondola etc. p.s. please don't jump out of the gondola, we want your winter to remain endless....

How does a thread become a hot thread?
SirJibAlot replied to thursday's topic in General off-topic discussions
I thought it had something to do with whether BOC replied to the thread... -
Sorry, just saw this thread. I lived in Sing for 6 years, here's a few ideas. Night Safari - this thing is a must see. Very well done, it's not your average zoo. All nocternal anmials that are equatorial in natural surroundings. make sure and get off the tram and go checkout the bat cave, but beware of peeing bats! Boat Quay - can't go wrong there. I like an Indian place that is close to the tall buildings side. Sim Lim Square - get your cheap electronic fix there Kenko Massage - get the family chinese foot massages, they are the best and great after a long day of walk

My wife has collected the entire run of Friends on DVD. All bought in Japan (so she can watch with J-overdub). I don't want to even imagine how much all that cost me. At least she watches them often...

Moving a huge file

Delete some mails until it is under 4GB -
yea, apparently it has to do with all the food scandals this year (peko-chan, etc.)

MaxxL, Not to worry, with the SJ website, you'll find all the info you need. For the easiest and quickest way up the mountain - go to a Japan Rail office or travel agency and get a 1 day round trip package to Gala Yuzawa. You just hop on the train at Tokyo station and it drops you off at Gala Yuzawa ski area. They have english instructions and staff there. It's super easy.

Glad to hear it's much simpler....
