I'm 1.85 and ski on 175s. If conditions are marginal, I might try 170s - but I doubt conditions in Japan get as marginal as here in Oz.

's not me who's into cc, Hokkaidough, it's the boyfriend - I'm with you, skis were meant to go downhill with (at speed), not uphill. But since it's definitely too early for downhill, we thought that maybe we could indulge him and go cc instead. Looks like no go, though. What's the nicest area around Daisetsuzan to hang around for a week on the off-chance of snow?

Hi everyone, We want to do some cross-country skiing when we're in Hokkaido for a week between 6-12 November. From what I can tell it's too early then even for cross-country. Is that right? Or is there somewhere we can go? Any snow around yet? Any insider info? What's the best place for us to go, in case there's any snow between now and then? Sorry about the many questions, I can't seem to find out on the web...
