  1. Ive always found it funny (and a little exciting) when a girl asks "do you want to play with me"? not as amusing as when a (japanese) boy asks though. Probably not amusing at all coming from a big black guy i imagine.
  2. im guessing that is what will happen. unlike alot of other businesses, u cant (actually, maybe u can?) just take the main assets and move/sell/use em elsewhere. The lifts, hotels etc would be close to worthless i imagine unless they are all operating in some way. maybe theyll just have to cut down on the skipatrol?!
  3. one of my favourites is "So is New Zealand really the capitol of Australia?" another great one im sure youve all heard... "do u laiku dogsu?" (i always reply that yes, they are very tasty). of course, u can probably blame me for some of their dumb questions...... Its amazing how many believe me when I tell em I work as a 'shooer' in Australia. You know, I stand near the road near the harbour bridge, and shoo the kangaroos away!

  5. btw, I used to love Degrassi Junior High too!!! best thing to come outta Canada, lol!

  7. that doesnt mean its not gunna be bought by another compan dirt cheap and remain open though does it?
  8. dont be a pussy..... go drink some coffee and conquer those mountains!
  9. So, did anyone watch the baseball "world series" this year?

Just for your info, Niseko has scientifically been declared the flattest ski resort in the world. Australian real estate investors will tell you otherwise. Have fun in Japan anyway, and forget the park. You don't buy a seasons pass to powder mecca to ride a half pipe So you dont count Australian resorts as resorts? No doubt u wouldnt be saying that if youve ever been to Mt Selwyn!! And i disagree with the half-pipe comment. EVERY resort has
  11. hmmm, from memory arent they the same mountain? I did the one with the (brand new) big ropeway during goldenweek a few years back, when all the other resorts were shut due to lack of snow. It was quite surreal, as it felt like summer, and all the koosa (yellow sand) made the snow look like sanddunes (which they practically were!). A mate went once though during winter and almost died in an avalanche, so be very careful as fattwins said.
  12. another thing u can look for is working hours. I managed to get a job that usually started in the afternoon around sapporo, so I was able to go boarding most days b4 work. Had alot of trouble staying awake whilst teaching, but it was worth it imho.
  13. dude, i did exactly what ur talkin about a few years back. Sapporo is a great city to live, all the nightlife is close together, and the mountains not far off either. There r plenty of nearbe crappy resorts, eg Moiwa is the closest (but no boarders). Makomanai is absolutely shithouse, but has a great halfpipe. The only 2 good resorts are Kokusai and Teine - both r very small however, and Teine doesnt get the same snow as other places (and kokusai is flatter than Niseko!) To get to Niseko, u gotta spend 2 1/2 to 3 hours in the bus, or a pesky train ride can also be done. Cost
