  1. I've somehow managed to get through life with being able to determine the time without ever having had the need of strapping a timepiece to my wrist.
  2. I don't recall ever owning a watch. Never seen the point of them.
  3. I've had investments in Hirafu and still own a place in Kutchan. Ask away.
  4. I went in a protest march today. That's the most exercise I've had in awhile.
  5. Probably about time we had another world war don't you think?
  6. I don't even have a smart phone and don't wear watches so can't see myself ever getting one.
  7. My little one is definitely not a baby anymore but at least we now get to do way cooler things together like climbing mountains (without me having to carry her).
  8. I dont think it'll affect the colours unless its raining hard and strips the leaves from the trees quicker than they'd naturally fall. I was very impressed by the colours around Sapporo last autumn......so i suppose there'd be some really nice places round hokkaido in the countryside I'd recommend heading up to Daisetsuzan NP in mid to late Sept Tubby. Head up to Asahidake and you'll see great colour and possibly some of the first dustings of snow on the peak. Beautiful region.
  9. You're right there tubby. Last Jun-Aug rainfall in Sapporo was 300mm. This Jun to date you've had 393mm. In Kutchan last Jun-Aug they had only 242mm and this year they've had 406mm.
  10. Yep here in Aus. Seemore with all the attachments we're looking up near $40k. Obviously buying it through the business.
  11. The reason we went that one is because we need to be able to lift bags that weigh up to a tonne on the pallet tines and it was the minimum size that could lift that sort of weight. The decent size bucket on the front end will be handy moving potting mix at the nursery as well.
  12. Think I'll get myself a banjo as well to wile away the hours in the evening on the porch after a hard day in the fields
  13. I'll see if they can throw in a straw hat. Pieces of straw can be found around the property.
  14. Just got one these today. A Kubota L4600 4wd tractor. Got it with the front end loader, pallet tines for the rear, a grader blade and a grass slasher. Couple of weeks before it's delivered and looking forward to playing with it.
  15. A guy I worked with let off a stink bomb in the office and people thought is was a gas leak and evacuated the entire building. The idiot didn't tell them it was only a stink bomb. They eventually found out what happened and he got the sack.
  16. I'm only going on the Sapporo one. Not sure what they're like down south.
  17. It being an American company they mainly stock American goods. They definitely have a good range of chesses though.
  18. There is a little supermarket on route 5 in Kutchan that has a fair range of international goods which I'm petty sure stocked Heinz backed beans but I doubt it'd be any cheaper than Lawson's (and sorry but can't remember the name of it off the top of my head). Possibly Costco in Sapporo? We used to head up there about once a month to stock up on more western stuff. Can't remember if they specifically had Heinz backed beans though.
  19. I only ever went back to Aus once in the over 7 years I was in Japan and that was for a funeral. Didn't worry about bringing anything back with me. There was nothing really I missed from Aus that I couldn't easily get in Niseko or Sapporo.
  20. Looking here http://wxmaps.org/pix/ea.850.html I guess Saturday night into Sunday that may be possible. Getting down to around 4 degrees at about 1400m so snow above around 1800m is probable.
