  1. Just to stir things up some more... Even the conspiracy theorists are debunking the video. http://911research.wtc7.net/essays/green/loose_change.html I'm amazed how many of you unquestioningly believe the claims made in the video. Do some research on these guys - they've got no credentials and no experience in this sort of thing. Their movie is based on a bunch of claims from blogs, some unproven media reports and footage from another 9/11 conspiracy theory DVD. I'm certainly not a supporter of the Bush administration or the US Government in general, but I also don't beli
  2. My mother replies to spam mail! She emails the spammers to let them know that she must have received the email by mistake. I keep telling her to just delete them and that her replying is only making the problem worse but she doesn't get it.
  3. Thanks SZ. All I'm taking at the moment is nurofen, which is helping to ease the back and neck aches. As for starving the fever... well I actually feel quite hungry... not sure whether it's boredom or I actually need the energy.
  4. I've got the Flu and I feel like I'm going to die. Surely someone has some crazy remedies I can use to kick this thing!
  5. I guess for a lot of people it's about the look. No one wants to look like a beginner, everyone wants to look like a pro.
  6. Spud, you do pick on me but the narcissist in me considers it to be quite flattering In all honesty, it's unlikely that a pair of shoes alone can win you a race. Maybe you were just athletically better than them? You were in the army 10 years ago? I thought you were 19 or thereabouts.
  7. Tsubi jeans are super comfy! The denim is very soft as it's an elastane blend. As for cargo pants, well they're fine but you can't really dress them up can you?
  8. I can get them for half the price... which is still expensive but meh. I haven't bought myself new clothes in ages so I'm willing to go a little nuts.
  9. Not a big fan of the ripped/holey jeans either. My dad has a pair of stonewashed jeans (circa 1987) that he recently discovered he could fit into again. We're all a bit worried he's going to wear them out in public and smear the family name. Speaking of the 80s though, skinny leg jeans are definitely back. I'm thinking of getting a pair of these: http://www.mycatwalk.com.au/pages/tsubi-jeans_34.html
  10. Yuppies that drive 4WDs. I do my grocery shopping in the snooty suburb over from the one we live in because it has a better supermarket. Pretty much every time I go I nearly have a collision with some stupid rich housewife who has no idea how to drive her monstrosity of a car. Seriously, they drive BMW and Mercedes Benz 4WDs that look like they've never been taken off road. Why on earth do they need them? What's so prestigious about owning one? Do they even know how to spell the word 'emission' let alone realise that their car is one big diesel fume-spewing machine?
  11. Hehe... if it was a truly Aussie ad it would've said "For f**ck's sake where are you? Get your arse over here!"
  12. That's horrible. Some of the parents (mostly mothers) of the girls I used to do gymnastics with were majorly pushy. Often the coaches encourage this kind of mentality/behaviour which makes it even worse.
  13. 011, are you a structural engineer? I'd imagine you must be, because you're quite clearly an expert on this topic. When did conspiracy theories of any kind become 'official' anyway? What a ridiculous concept. As for not having facts, well I don't see you citing sources for every single one of your opinions.
  14. I love jeans - I pretty much live in them outside of work hours. I don't mind spending a lot of money on a pair of jeans because I know I'll wear them to death.
  15. I dunno. Would they really take out two buildings that were vital to their country's economy? Why not hit just one building? It doesn't really make sense.
  16. Well, the one and only time I've been to Cardrona I just had a ball. We got great snow and there weren't many people there so we were able to relax and take our time. Also, I learned to snowboard there (they have a great park) so I have fun memories
  17. I have a soft spot for the Remarks but I also like Cardrona. Never been to Mt Olympus, what's it like?
  18. Steel frame constructions tend to melt pretty quickly when you add almost 100,000 litres of burning aviation fuel. My father owns a construction company that specialises in building the post-tensioned steel frames in high-rise towers. Steel frames are very strong and can bear a heap of weight, however, when other building materials are damaged, say by a fire, this increases the amount of pressure exerted on the frame. This becomes problematic in extremely high buildings where the frame is already supporting a huge amount of weight.
  19. It's definitely weird. I mean, giving someone lingerie to give to a potential girlfriend? They may as well have given you a box of condoms.
  20. Really, July? I've always found August to be better in terms of snowfall. Which NZ resort is your favourite?
  21. SubZero, I don't find it that bad. I usually trip out to NZ each year and maybe spend a few days at Perisher. This year I'm planning to do NZ, Perisher and Canada or Japan after Christmas.
  22. I went to the Reds V Western Force game tonight. Pretty bloody boring game. But then, I find football boring in general.
