  1. Kintaro, Are you going to be hands on? Or set it up and get someone to run it for you? Finding good staff is a prick of a job. Making the leap from employee to employer is huge. Made me see my old bosses in a new light. Don't make my biggest mistake, neeeeeeeeeeever hire someone you know. Hire someone you are able to fire if they don't work out.
  2. Does anyone know when it first appeared? Seems a bit off season (must have happened at least 4-5 months ago). Still anything that gets J ski resorts to people as they eat their weet bix can't be bad.
  3. Can't you take it all back to the supermarket? Funny you say that about beer. I've found the same. Esp since Jusco started selling the Banrock 2 liter casks, and the ease with which you can get good shochuu pretty much anywhere now. (Only really like Imo Shochu)
  4. Biggest thing I think is to do something you're interested in personally. If it's not something you enjoy then you'll get bored quickly. We never had a business plan as such, but then again it was never a huge risk or required a large outlay.(Internet businesses are great like that) Also you need to be flexible as things crop up that you wouldn't have dreamed of. OUr business is running very smoothly now, but at the beginning it took a while to get everyone on the same wavelength. One final thing, never treat your business as a finished product, there are always ways to improve it, or de
  5. I find the tabehodai/nomihodai places are good. Girlies usually get a cheaper rate.

  8. Kintaro; I wouldn't worry about the moron comment as it probably applies to me anyway. I know a little about a few things but f_all about most. First car we bought was a SUV. Bought it for 2.5mill (wife got him down from 3.2mill). Drove it for 5 years. Shipped it back to NZ and got about 1.5mill for it (as opposed to 600,000yen offered in Japan).
  9. Probably seem like a prat here, but since I've been in Japan, we have only bought new cars. Reasons why: 1. I know nothing about cars and wouldn't know a good deal from a bad one 2. Generally about 2% financing. 3. After service. We would get a call from the salesman about once a month asking how the car was doing. If we had a problem, he'd be right around to pick it up and fix it. We never paid for anything (apart from oil changes) even if the car was 5-6 years old. Since moving to Hakuba he has still been in constant touch and has the closest Nissan dealer make sure everything is tak
  10. Watched "supersize me" last night. Bit of a bloody worry. Esp their explanation of chicken nuggets.
  11. How about the refreshing lack of reality TV over here?
  12. The 3 bedroom brick veneer Holden Commodore.
  13. Finally got a Golden Retriever Pup with it's balls in tact.
  14. Make sure it was a book that didn't bomb. --drum roll--
  15. Maybe they got hold of Iraq's WMD and were planning to smuggle them on board. If it was a real threat then they would have let it go ahead to give Bush grounds for becoming President for life, and Blair to abolish the monarchy.
  16. Thanks. I had a look at that page and it looks good but you haev to make a trip to Osaka to adopt. Loooks like we'll make a few trips to the Hokenjo.
  17. We're thinking of buying a dog. We know nothing about it but being doing a little research. What we are after is a medium-large size dog, good with kids, and can survive in the cold. Has anyone ever bought a dog in Japan? I don't want to pay the prices for the pure breeds they seem to sell at the home centers.
  18. We used to do a tampon soaked in red food coloring in the spa pool.
  19. How about home brew? We made tons of the stuff but never managed to leave if you the required period before drinking the stuff. Even had games to decide who would drink the crud in the bottom.
  20. spud couple more war stories for ya. One night after a few too many tequlias for some reason we had to get up on the roof. It had 2 seams on it and looked like an upside down W. There were 2 chimneys in the middle V. Going over the top of the first seam I lost my balance and took out the guy wires supporting one of the chimneys, which came down on my mate who was climbing up behind me knocking him clean off the roof. For a few secs I though I'd killed him, but I heard him laughing as he straddles the chimney. Next morning we had no idea what drove us to get up on the roof anyway
  21. According to one source, Royal bonking is controlled mainly by the imperial household agency, who are present throughout foreplay and leave after instructing the Prince to "insert here". It is well planned in advance and only happens once in a ao-tsuki (青月)period. There is no truth however to the rumor that the princesses must squeeze the prince's left nut if she wants a boy, or his right nut if she wants a girl.
  22. spud: you stoutkopf This is another East German one saying that her privates are not the way they are supposed to be.
