It depends on how it is used Oyuki. Most people use it with absolutely no unsavory undertones whatsoever (and are not even aware of them). -
I have in my time done some testing for Rossignol (and so had some freebies in the process) and I generally like them and more often than not the skis I end up using most are Rossis. (However that won't stop me from looking around of course).

Enjoy a bit of both, started skiing 17 years ago, and took up boarding a while back.

Ski - 14 years. Snowboard - 5 years. Total of 17 years on the slopes.
