  1. I doubt you can go wrong really if you get one of the big makes and don't just go for a cheap thing.

The images that some of them can bring out are really great.

I suppose it depends on just how much you want it to be point and shoot, or a bit more in charge of things.

  2. Hi desu!

Been reading up on the use of hoods. One of those hot topics that you hear arguments on both sides, a bit like filters really.

Ken says leave them at home, so I think I will give them a go though from now.

    ;)

You got filters on your new lenses muikabochi?

  3. Good stuff. If you can afford it then there seems no reason to wait if you know it's what you are going to get.

I have been considering getting one of those Black Rapid straps, they do look good. Can I use it left-handed, so to speak - hanging on my right shoulder?

  4. Yes none of these have been cut at all.

The wide was 14-24mm and the zoomed in ones with the 70-200mm.

It's not mind, my friend just let me have it for a week or two.

    :)

Cool. With the megasuperpixels at your disposal you can wimp out and cut right down or be creative with that, but them all 'as is' shows your skills at framing a shot right there in the camera. A good eye indeed, which we knew before of course.

70-200mm images seem really nice and sharp.

  5. Nice. If I'm not mistaken the 85mm is the one that is tops for portraits and producing delicious creamy-like backgrounds, right?

I see the very cheapest you can get that one is over 140,000 yen new.

It's not fair that all this is just so goddam expensive.

I'm sure it will be fun, see if you can't slip one of them in your bag!

  6. All this talk has got me thinking about new cameras and stuff.

But I know if I get on the train once again it's going to whip my wallet along with it and not sure if I am ready to take that step.

I think I'm going to wait it out a bit and see what happens re: D400 etc.

Keen to hear more on your D800 impressions though as you take more with it muikabochi.
