  1. I noticed that too on a report they had going on over the weekend. You've got to think "surely not" and its intentional.
  2. Can't say I've seen much of him actually. Thought he was great in Gladiator though,
  3. I doubt you can go wrong really if you get one of the big makes and don't just go for a cheap thing. The images that some of them can bring out are really great. I suppose it depends on just how much you want it to be point and shoot, or a bit more in charge of things.
  4. Hi desu! Been reading up on the use of hoods. One of those hot topics that you hear arguments on both sides, a bit like filters really. Ken says leave them at home, so I think I will give them a go though from now. You got filters on your new lenses muikabochi?
  5. I have not used hoods at all muikabochi. Though I have no doubt that they are included with a lens for a reason!
  6. I see on the Shiga Kogen Now page that they had snow up there too as well overnight.
  7. Good stuff. If you can afford it then there seems no reason to wait if you know it's what you are going to get. I have been considering getting one of those Black Rapid straps, they do look good. Can I use it left-handed, so to speak - hanging on my right shoulder?
  8. Cool. With the megasuperpixels at your disposal you can wimp out and cut right down or be creative with that, but them all 'as is' shows your skills at framing a shot right there in the camera. A good eye indeed, which we knew before of course. 70-200mm images seem really nice and sharp.
  9. I have started watching some baseball the last few years never did before I came here. As for play? No team sports, just cycling. And I like a good long brisk walk on a fine day, though that's not really sport is it!
  10. Cool pics again muika. Those pics of the crater.... I presume the wide one was taken with the 14-24mm lens? Which lens did you use for the closer images - I notice in the camera thread you said that there was no cropping going on, so just wondering as that's a fair old distance there.
  11. Love the new pics, muika. How are you finding the lenses now?
  12. Not used it but in two minds about what I think about it. It can look totally amazing, though used wrong can also look awful. Like most things I suppose.
  13. Sounds like common sense to me that Metabo. Then again, if that were the cast (a large number)% of skijo probably wouldn't open at all!
  14. It seems that they have made a few hundred $$ the last quarter again. Perhaps new stuff coming soon.
  15. Have fun with that lens - post some pics hey?
  16. Well at least they put their hands up and admitted it before anything happened.
  17. Nice. If I'm not mistaken the 85mm is the one that is tops for portraits and producing delicious creamy-like backgrounds, right? I see the very cheapest you can get that one is over 140,000 yen new. It's not fair that all this is just so goddam expensive. I'm sure it will be fun, see if you can't slip one of them in your bag!
  18. All this talk has got me thinking about new cameras and stuff. But I know if I get on the train once again it's going to whip my wallet along with it and not sure if I am ready to take that step. I think I'm going to wait it out a bit and see what happens re: D400 etc. Keen to hear more on your D800 impressions though as you take more with it muikabochi.
  19. Wonder when they will sort out that supply issue. I see tons of people who ordered first day announcement still haven't got theirs.
  20. I see Nikon are going to announce a new cheapish D3200... with 24megapixels. I know the other specs are totally different but I don't really understand why the high end D4 has relatively less of those pixelly thingies.
