  1. Went out today and took 200 photos. Just about to put them in the computer (for the first time) and see how that goes. Felt great
  2. Are you this annoyingly persistant with promoting your own narrow thinking in real life?
  3. Look..... I wanted an online search. I didn't know exactly what to search for. I wasn't asking about going to a shop. I thought it was quite clear. Why can't you just leave it at that?
  4. I wanted a product number because that's what I wanted - it's quite simple! I don't understand what the problem with that is. Anyway Bushpig provided me with what I wanted, thanks Bushpig.
  5. Quote: Could some kind sir point me in the direction of a product number for a recommended UV filter for my 18-200mm Nikor That's what. (In Japanese, so I can search Japanese sites). Thanks.
  6. As I said I want to search online, that is why I am asking. "A kenko" or "a marumi" doesn't really help me much.
  7. Could some kind sir point me in the direction of a product number for a recommended UV filter for my 18-200mm Nikor. So I can search it out online. I'm just not sure what to look for without having something concrete to search. Cheers!
  8. I just felt there were less "big places" (I'm sure I remember there being quite a few large electronic shops in that area a bit further away from the station - not really much there now it seemed) and more "cheap / duty free" places, as well as a lot of manga-like images everywhere... not sure what all that lot was!
  9. Well the lowest prices on there were certainly lower than anything I saw in Akihabara. Anyway has it got smaller?
  10. I was in Akihabara the other day for the first time in a while. It seems to have changed a lot since I last went. There actually seems to be less choice of big shops - and much more anime / Gundam / whatever all that otaku stuff is going on. I also thought the prices weren't that good and the online prices I had noted down easily beat most places on the big things I was looking at. The best place seemed to be the newish and incredible large Yodabashi Camera. They must have had over 1000 camera bags alone. Prices there still weren't that good, but armed with a kikaku price list
  11. Definitely grateful for the info, yes. I have even written to him to thank him.
  12. Quote: His site is pretty comprehensive. Yes I agree...but could really do with some navigation and organisation (and perhaps a splash of easy on the eye design).
  13. I got the SB400 after doing research and concluding it would be more than enough for my needs. Nice and small it is too. Haven't used it yet so no reports at the moment.
  14. Soubs, my English manual came today. I had seen it online but I'm really glad that I got it in book form now. For me it is so much better having a small book than viewing manuals online and it does tell you much more than just "what the buttons do" in it's 200 pages. It may not be a complete megaguide, and some of the people here obviously don't think so, but I think it is worth having. Ask the place where you got the camera they might be able to get it to you for free. I just paid 700 yen.
  15. Thanks. Is there much benefit to the electricity one apart from looking good (and not needing to replace silical gel packs!)?
  16. Must have missed that. All I remember (and saw just before) was talk of one of you having boxes and a cabinet costing a few man. No real talk about them. It's open to other people as well
  17. Do any of you guys have one of those dry cabinet things? I was reading the cost in electricity is 1 yen a day. I suppose though that you'd only really need it on during rainy season / summer / mid-winter... or maybe not? All year?
