  1. I really like that lens. You can get up close and also really wide at the same time. My macro gets much closer though. Lots to learn, lots of fun!
  2. Yes I did and happy I went for it instead of the 80. I am very much still learning but as there are pretty much no running costs with a digital I decided get "better" rather than save a bit of cash on the body. I'm glad I did now. Holding the 80 and 200 in the shop, I really wanted to go with the 200.
  3. I really like the weight. It feels really sturdy. For me that is a good thing.
  4. I gave 30,000 yen for it to a friend of a photographer friend of mine who basically said he just wasn't using it and was happier to just get some cash for it. It is hardly used, looks new, friend approved! Took the friend out for a meal as well so I suppose that is part of the cost
  5. Oops sorry, the Nikkor one, Nikon 105mm f/2.8G VR Micro. Got a very good deal.
  6. I can't eat rate meat, has to be at least fairly well done.
  7. Got the macro lens over summer Having fun now learning how to use it properly.
  8. I'm going to be staying in the Annupuri area in February. One reason I chose that is because it is "not Hirafu".
  9. Sounds like it will be easy to get to from Sapporo as well. I'm planning to be in Sapporo for a bit this winter.
  10. Anyone use the dipotres (or whatever they are called - magnifying filters?!) on a lens? I heard it is a cheap way to "get macro", though obviously not as good as a lens and light issues come into play.
  11. Thanks Bushpig. I went into a camera shop the other day and tried the Sigma 105mm macro. Got up real close it was fun. If only things like this were a bit cheaper.... What kind of things did you end up taking pics of with macro?
  12. I have another lens question. Sigma lenses OK? I was in the local shop the other day and trying out macro lenses, you know real close up. Looked like a lot of fun could be had with one of those... anyone got one?
  13. Naruhodo... some of the best in the world. Thats something I've learned today, thanks.
  14. Infrared. Interesting. Yes I think for now I'll keep playing around with what I've got, still so much to learn.
  15. Chile? That sounds awesome. I didn't imagine there would be lots of snow there (for some ignorant reason!)
  16. Going back to filters, what other filters do any of you guys have? I was looking in Bic the other day and they have all sorts of filters going on - crosslight (?), twilight blue, etc...
  17. Yes I'm looking forward to that too. I'm going to study-up on how to best use it.
  18. Friend with fisheye has promised I can take it with me over the summer.
  19. Just the former apparently. It's absurd to put that example on the leaflet where it all balances out to exactly zero. As others have said, I know of no-one who hasn't seen their taxes effectively increased by a fair bit. I wonder how many real world cases end up +-0
