I have lived for 2 years in France, 1 year in Germany, 4 years in Italy and 2 years in the UK. In each case (apart from 3 months in London), I was living in countryside style settings (ie not big city). I had local friends and ate local food. Restaurants in my experience, rannku in! 1 Italy 2 France 3 Germany 4 England Home cooking / food that people eat daily, rannku in! 1 England 2 Germany 3 Italy 4 France I found France to be particularly poor. And it surprised me as well. I had this romantic image of it part from what I heard and from the holidays

I had an ipod, but the usual poor battery story has put me off. I'm sure they are much better now, but the one I had died on me far too quickly. I'm in the market for a music player now, maybe one of these Zen Neeons.

Well I got kitted out, spend a week in hokkaido, a week in nagano and had about 10 other days days. Altogether that probably set me back about 300 thousand. Probably more actually, but I don't really want to think about it.

Where abouts in China are you Qomolangma? I was in China travelling for a few years. Love the place.
