I've never seen Jackass or really know what it is. Perhaps I'm better off that way. The other day I watched Hackers which was slighly amusing due to the 'technology' on show.

Of course, laughing at West Ham "hammering" Man United 4-0 is also fun. Even if it is the M Mouse Cup.

Well yes I get the bit about the money going round, but it would be going round whatever wouldn't it. That doesn't mean that somehow it is not a cost to the taxpayer. In this case is going to these cave-people, when it could go to so much more 'worthy' cases.

Do benefits paid out to people not count as a cost? Not real money or something? Don't all people who receive benefits spend their money on things like, er, food etc to simply live/survive. Or does it all just disappear out of the economy or something? Maybe it's the Monday morning thing, but I'm confused Mitch. Tell me how the cash going out to these no-hopers is not a cost paid for ultimately by taxpayers just like any other cash going out. Are there not more 'deserving' people out there?

So what to make of Sir Alex Ferguson's press conference? The first obvious thing to note was the United manager's genuine bemusement, boarding on exasperation. In word and posture Ferguson seemed almost resigned to losing the player, despite maintaining that 'the door is still open.' Ferguson looks genuinely down about all this, claiming that United have done nothing other than look after Rooney since he arrived at Old Trafford. The 'door is left open' for this to be resolved with Rooney staying - though it sounds like Rooney has expressed his desire to leave in no uncertain terms.

Bomba! Wonder if he'll get any minutes now? The plot thickens.

How are United fans taking all this? Is it a smokescreen for him basically wanting to double his salary and not being able to at United?
